We had a fantastic experience at Woodhouse. Probably my favourite meal of the year so far. It was so flavourful and delicious. We had the cucumber salad, spicy clams with naan (incredible), beef short rib, and the egglplant with garlic. Every bite was a flavour explosion. We really appreciated their no tipping policy. Instead opting for a profit sharing program for the staff. Made the meal so much more affordable. This place was superb and we will definitely be back.
great spot for chinese style bbq! they have a lot of great options and price is not bad at all our side of the table (5 of us) shared 6 items and we were all satisfied and the split after tax and tip was about $22 per person the space isnt too large so I recommend calling ahead for a reservation if you are planning to go with a big group also their staff was super nice!! we were celebrating my friends bday and they gave him a free beer ordered: sausage pineapple fried rice, green onion pancake, spiced chicken, lamb skewers, beef skewers, ginger pork loin also pictured: scallops, spicy popcorn chicken ONLY NOTE: their menu is kind of hard to navigate
We got the cucumber salad, scallops, satay greens bean, and beef wraps. I liked the cucumber salad and scallops but found the green beans too salty and beef wrap was too oily with undercooked beef. Service was nice. The black couch was a little low for the table. Good atmosphere.
First off, pricey but great for date night and trying something new. Free underground parking is a bonus though, especially for the area. Skewers came in threes for the price and ranged depending on the meat. The regular beef one that came first was definitely our favourite. Everything was heavily spiced which is great the first few bites but you start to feel it for the rest of the meal so not the best if you’re sensitive to spicy. Wasn’t a huge fan of the fried chicken bowl as it was mainly all hot peppers and you could really taste that in the chicken (unless you’re a fan of that then by all means). Green beans were awesome with just enough spice and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the wraps, although it can be a heavy meal in itself, tasted great and probably the only thing that didn’t hurt to eat after 3 bites for myself! Service here was great though, given the smaller size of restaurant, it never took too long for any assistance. Atmosphere was awesome. Very green house vibes and retro feeling. You can tell they took the time in every detail of the space.
Excellent spot for Chinese BBQ. Really enjoyed the decor and the quaint vibe. The food was excellent, notably the meat skewers and the garlic clams. The staff was super friendly too. A strong recommend if you're in the North York area.
Just had an amazing dinner here. Lamb skewers, grilled mushrooms, and grilled beef wrapped in scallion pancake were all among the best we’ve had anywhere. Excellent atmosphere (those gorgeous live-edge wood tables and comfy, eclectic cushioned chairs and sofas). Fun vibe and an extensive menu. We’ll have to come back to try more!
Great Northern Chinese Food Spot in North York! Stumbled upon this cool place for traditional Northern Chinese food. If you're around North York, you gotta check it out. Location: It's at the corner of Yonge and Sheppard. Just get off at Sheppard subway, take the west exit and walk down for like 5 minutes. Food: The flavors are legit Northern. Loved the fish with some chilly oil, the BBQ scallop, and this awesome scallop tofu soup thing. So good! And lamp bbq the best. Adding + beef short ribs Price: Not too pricey. Most dishes are between $20-$25. And they’ve got this weekday lunch deal that’s about $15 per person, which is pretty sweet. Service: They’re friendly and quick. No complaints here. Vibe: I liked the interior. It is a WOOD house! They've got these big wooden tables, and many other wood decors, the whole place has a chill, salt of earth feel. Great for a night out with friends
Great Friday night dinner at this cozy restaurant that combines Chinese BBQ dishes and relaxing vibe with 90’s songs playing in the background. The skewers are well seasoned and cooked. Service was quick and friendly. The owner also serves dishes and makes sure everything is going well. The scallops were really tasty. I also liked the skewers although I wish they came a little hotter and sizzling. The wiener we ordered came lukewarm in the center which was not so perfect. Haven’t had a chance to try their drinks but I’m interested in their beer sangria. Their recent shift away from the tipping system is a welcoming gesture. Despite the lack of tips, I find their service superior to other Chinese BBQ places that would penny pinch customers for tips. Keep it up, and you have my support. Will be back again.
